Job Summary

We are looking for an outstanding Accounting Mangaer to join our team.  The individual in this role will perform complex accounting work according to established procedures and reporting requirements.  You will be working with a highly collaborative team and exposed to many different facets of financial reporting and staff oversight with excellent opportunities to utilize and enhance your skills. In addition, organizational and problem solving skills, a can-do attitude, and the ability to adjust to changing requirements are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

Accounting

  • Prepares accurate and timely journal entries for the monthly close in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and processes and procedures;
  • Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations and account analysis;
  • Gathers, compiles, and reports complex financial information for various reporting purposes, both internal and external including regulatory and SEC filings including Forms 10-Q, 10-K and 8-K amongst others, as required;
  • Coordinate the monthly, quarterly, and annual close;
  • Approves routine daily journal entry batches
  • Prepares internal and external reporting packages for various stakeholders including financial analysis and flux analysis narratives;
  • Provides oversight to subordinate staff including reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and other tasks as assigned;
  • Identifies efficiencies to streamline processes and procedures;
  • Completes work in a timely and accurate manner while providing exceptional customer service;
  • Performs other duties as assigned;
  • Reports directly to Senior VP of Finance and Corporate Controller and will work with the CFO as well.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting;
  • CPA license preferred (current, past, or in progress);
  • 4+ years of hands on corporate accounting experience, including consolidations, financial statement prep and reconciliations experience is required;
  • Experience in Big 4 with SEC reporting or related private experience is preferred;
  • Working knowledge of EDGAR filing tools and Workiva preferred;
  • Public/Private mix with SOX exposure is preferred;
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills;
  • Software experience preferred: Yardi, Workiva (WDesk), Microsoft Suite

Working Conditions

  • Work hours, generally Monday – Friday / 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Additional hours will be required to ensure key deliverables are met and business needs during peak times. Peak times include month, quarter and year end closing and preparation of 10-Q’s and 10-K’s.
  • Compensation between $75-90K + benefits, D.O.E.
