Senior Accountant and Financial Reporting Specialist


Job Summary


We are looking for an outstanding Senior Accountant and Financial Reporting Specialist to join our team.  The individual in this role will perform complex accounting work according to established procedures and reporting requirements.  You will be working with a highly collaborative team and exposed to many different facets of financial reporting and staff oversight with excellent opportunities to utilize and enhance your skills. In addition, organizational and problem solving skills, a can-do attitude, and the ability to adjust to changing requirements are essential.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Prepares accurate and timely journal entries for the monthly close in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and processes and procedures;
  • Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations and account analysis;
  • Gathers, compiles, and reports complex financial information for various reporting purposes, both internal and external including regulatory and SEC filings;
  • Performs accounting research and financial analysis;
  • Provides oversight to subordinate staff;
  • Identifies efficiencies to streamline processes and procedures.
  • Completes work in a timely and accurate manner while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting;
  • CPA (current, past, or in progress);
  • 4+ years of hands on corporate accounting experience, including consolidations, financial statement prep and reconciliations experience is required;
  • Experience in Big 4 with SEC reporting or related private experienceis preferred;
  • Working knowledge of XBRL tools such as Workiva a plus;
  • Public/Private mix with SOX exposure is preferred;
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

Working conditions


  • Monday – Friday / 8:30 am – 5:30 pm. Additional hours may be required to ensure deliverables are met and business needs during peak times.
